Here is something for the travelers who enjoy good restaurants and those who believe experiencing local cuisine is part of the fun of traveling to new places. Antwerp has more than enough places to choose from - so to help you out we compiled a list of our favorite and top places to dine.
We are always on the look out for new venues to try out. Then there are those few favorites that we go back to again and again.
Some of the spots we recommend are not on the regular tourist itinerary or in the guide books - so be prepared to step off the beaten track and mingle with the locals.
Daniel, who wrote most of the reviews, is a certified cook and used to be a chef in several fancy venues in Antwerp - so he knows his food :)
... and me? I am more than very very happy to accompany him on his tasting explorations ... mainly for the sake of research of course ;)

Number one on our list has a great view, and a very big patio - since your sitting on the Grote Markt!
If it's too crowded try the second floor for an even better view.
When it comes to steak - there is a lot to choose from – read our Steak Guide if you don't want to be served raw egg on a hill of raw ground beef. Places that specialize only in steak - Steakhouses - are very rare.
Despite that ‘Beefsteak frit’ is very popular – the national dish in Belgium - it is difficult to a find typical American Steak house. But there is steak in Belgium – We know. Friday is steak night at our house. Usually we make it at home but often we head out on the town in search of the perfect steak - and we keep adding to our ‘worth mentioning’ steak list.
Although you can find steak everywhere - If you want choice and really good steak try one of the
