Antwerp-Rubens House
Rubens lived here most of his live in what is now Antwerp-Rubens House Museum. This is the place where most of his paintings (around 25000) were created by him and his students. It was a real factory but only the very best pupils were hired. Anthony Van Dyck and Jacob Jordaens are only two Ruben’s many students that would become great masters themselves. You will see how top class people used to live in the 17th century. You can also admire the office of the master himself as well as the atelier where the actual work was performed. Rubens designed the house in Baroque style. The house has been purchased by the city of Antwerp in 1930. After renovation the Antwerp-Rubens House was brought back to its original state and opened as a museum. Open every day (except Mondays), from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Closed on certain public holidays: 1st & 2nd January, Ascension Day, 1st & 2nd November, 25th & 26th December.
